Northern Striped Dogwinkle: Nucella ostrina
This snail is one of a group of snails known as 'oyster drills'. It feeds on barnacles and oysters in the intertidal zone by drilling a hole through their shell with its radula. It then inserts a digestive enzyme and sucks out the digested material.
