Green Shore Crab: Hemigrapsus oregonensisThis is one of the most likely crabs that you will see if you flip over a rock on a rocky beach on Vancouver Island. They live in the high tide zone and scuttle away quickly to another rock or possibly someone's foot when they are exposed. They are easy to identify with a rectangular carapace and three distinct teeth on each side.
