Troschel`s Sea Star: Evasterias troscheliiCommon Names: Mottled Sea Star, False Ochre Star.
At first glance, this sea star resembles the Ochre Sea Star, but its rays are generally longer and tend to narrow before reaching the central disk. Also, the spines do not form a web-like pattern as they do for the Ochre Sea Star.
This sea star is common in the intertidal zone where it feeds on barnacles and mussels.
